Built different

Hi there,

Big tech won’t be your next bank.

They’ve all reeled in their efforts to offer their own finserv products.

But they will still play a part in many of your transactions.

Amazon and Google in particular continue to embed themselves in financial transactions on others’ platforms and in the broader ecosystem.

For example, last week, Amazon landed partnerships with TikTok and Pinterest to let users buy products directly from ads without leaving the social media apps.

Via partnerships and investments, they’re reaching customers across more geographies and offerings.

Amazon’s recent fintech activity points to a focus on growth markets like India and LatAm, while Google is elevating Google Wallet and is investing in financial infrastructure via its venture arms.
