While the agent ecosystem is emerging, veteran startups are also quickly adding AI agent offerings. For example, Replit (founded in 2016) released its coding agent last week.
In customer support — another promising market for AI agents — established AI companies are also building agent capabilities into their offerings. This includes Ada, Intercom, and Cognigy, which emerged prior to LLMs’ mainstream arrival. Cognigy raised $100M in Series C funding in June 2024 to scale its contact center agents.
